Doctor meets Pilot

•November 25, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Doctor meets Pilot.  Pilot says “Come fly with me, forever.”  Doctor says yes.  Doctor and Pilot come play with Crystal Jo for engagement pictures.  {Yes, I’m corny.  I already know this}.  Doctor and Pilot were extremely easy to photograph.  I love photographing couples that are so in love.  It’s so incredibly easy to point to a spot and back up with my camera, snap away and get these images that show such love.  We shot at North Bank Park and then made our way down to the Arena District/Huntington Park {where they hope to have their rehearsal dinner}.  We had a grand time…which makes me even more excited for their May nuptials.  Look back in May when Doctor and Pilot say “I do”.

Tyler {Class of 2010}

Tyler Fabry.  Class of 2010.  From West Jefferson High School.  We had a fun time in the wrestling room at the high school.  Tyler showed me all of his awesome medals and wresting trophies.  He was quiet adamant about having the State Championship mural in the background.  Talk about proud of his schools accomplishments!  After the indoor shots we headed out to the football field and then over to a nearby park.  We got some smooooooth shots of Tyler…check’em out below.

Somethin’ bout those Shambaughs!

Shammy Sham.

Shambo {like the hard core Survivor chick}.

Sham-Wow..isn’t this the rag used to clean cars with “no” streaking..yeah, WOW.

Shammy – oh, maybe this is the name of rag {ha!}.

Shammoo – isn’t this the name of the big whale?

Shampoo – what we use to watch our hair {with exception of Justin Bobby}

Okay – in all seriousness.  The Shambaughs.  Completely and Udderly {yes, like a cow} AWESOME.  Sarah remembered me from a lonnng time ago.  We share a mutual friend and we ran into each other back in my Olive Garden bartending days.  Yes, I know, I was mixin’ and flippin’ those bottles to satisfy my customers with some crazy Crystal Jo concoctions.  If you knew me then you are laughing at that last comment.

Anywhooo…she had contacted me to shoot her awesome Shambaugh fall family fotos {mouthful, I know}.  Sarah is a photographer herself, so the majority of our session her and I were rambling on about fun photography lingo, gear, places to shoot…you name it, we were all over it.  Needless to say, I adored her so much I invited her over to talk more photo.  And photo we talk!  Now, I can happily say I have Sarah onboard the Crystal Jo Foto train.  Yep, that’s right, she is now my {what I like to say} AsSistant.  You’ll see and hear so much more from/about her.  Welcome on the crazy train ride Sham…can’t wait for our journey together.

And on to the fall family fotos.  We shot these at Jeffrey Mansion in Bexley with Sarah’s hubby Paul and oh so adorable lil’ one Hayden.

Wow…isn’t this the cutest family?!  To view the entire gallery click HERE.

Waterfalls and Love Birds.

Erin and Phil.  Two love birds.  Their engagement session was especially easy.  It’s so easy when it’s true love.  The photographs really make themselves.  Phil is from Chicago and Erin is from Dublin, Ohio.  They met at college in Michigan {Go Bucks, I know…we won’t hold it against them.} and after an almost two year engagement..they are getting married!  We met at the Dublin Library and hiked to a beautiful park behind it.  This lovely location is where Phil proposed.  He showed me exactly where he planned to ask her to marry him.  And this location, uh, let’s just say was not an easy one to get to.  We climbed down some very, very steep rocks, crossed a river filled with tree branches and debris and then TA-DA..a BEAUTIFUL waterfall!  What an awesome little love spot!  The night Phil was going to propose, the stream was so dry he didn’t feel the waterfall was the greatest location to ask for her hand in marriage.  So we hiked some more {good thing I had on my trusty tennies} to another beautiful area.  You’ll see this below.

Congrats on your engagement, Erin and Phil.  Thanks for sharing the beautiful waterfall with me.  I hope to take my love muffin here…that is, if he’s not to scared to climb down the “mountain”.  To view the entire gallery of images when they are ready for viewing, click HERE.

Autumn with The Cruikshanks

•November 11, 2009 • 1 Comment

The Cruikshanks.  If you follow the blog you’ve become quite familiar with this adorable family.  We shoot family pictures a couple times a year (because really, who doesn’t love pictures!).  It has become pretty normal to these kids.  They see me getting my equipment out of my car and they come running outside…pictures, “take one me” “show me, I wanna see”.   They are so much fun!   Evyonne and Andy love documenting their lives season by season.  It’s nice to see how much the children grow and develop their own personalities.  You just can’t have enough family photos laying around!  Once again, enjoy The Cruikshank family fotos.

Love Blooms.

•October 8, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Bloom.  I love that name.  Jess became a Bloom not too long ago.  Matt became hers forever.  You’ll have to check out the pictures of this AMAZINGLY beautiful church!   Their day was just gorgeous.  Flowers galore.  Lovely colors and pretty bridesmaids dresses.  A horse and carriage ride to the reception.  An ice sculpture with their initials, and lil dove ice sculptures that served as dressing holders.  Buckeyes and Scarlet and Grey M&Ms adorned the guestbook table.  Large Wine glasses adorned with a paper monogram for wedding favors.  Beautiful toasts made by the father and sister of the bride and one from the brother of the groom.  What more could you ask for really?

Jess and I judge gymnastics together so we see quite a bit of each other in the winter and spring months.  Over the past couple of years, really all we’ve talked about is weddings – what flowers, what colors, what dress, what church, what food, what favors, what guy {I guess we both kinda knew this} what this, what that.  Ya know, all the important things in life…especially to us girls :)

The Galls share {Fall} Nuptials

The Galls are married!  What a gorgeous place!  Confluence Park.  On a lovely Monday evening.  Tina and Kevin are such a lovely couple…check Kevin out in his military uniform.  Gotta love a man in a uniform, right?!   I love the fall colors, the leaves the flower girl tossed on the aisle and the different bright colors the bridesmaids wore.   The day was oh just perfect.  Congrats, Kevin and Tina, to many many happy years!  IMG_0049IMG_0129IMG_7458IMG_7516IMG_7536IMG_9355IMG_9365IMG_9396IMG_9418IMG_9445IMG_9581IMG_9823IMG_9916

Wake up and say Yes!

•October 6, 2009 • 1 Comment

“Wake up Meagan!  Will you marry me?”  That’s pretty much how it happened.  {Perhaps not that demanding but it makes for a good story.}  She was sound asleep and he was anxious to ask her those four words.  Could you imagine?  It’s like a dream come true – literally.   Such a romantic story and a cute couple.

Meet Joe and Meagan.  We met in Deleware at Ohio Wesleyan college for their engagement shoot.  What a great new place to shoot!  I love the inspiration I get when I’ve never been somewhere…especially when I have fun-loving people in front of the camera.  Can’t wait for the wedding!
